I'm in Bewildering Stories Issue 340

Well, I'm here again, pleased to announce that my story SIRENUM SCOPULI in Bewildering Stories is now up.

I have to say, as a point of interest, that I am pleasantly surprised at how the managing editor, Don Webb, introduces the new contributors -- this time me. It's a very thoughtful thing to do, and by a way of thanks it makes me want to submit more stories to him. :) Seriously though, I do think it's a very nice touch.

In addition, I have also found that at the bottom of my story is a link to Issue 340 challenges; ideas formulated as they passed through the editor's mind while he read and formatted the text for publication. These can be used in many ways to inspire the readers to send in their ideas, and comments. Some challenges even resemble an exercise from a writers workshop, others can be seen as a prompt or an expression of the editor's concept of a Bewildering Story. Another great idea, I say! And my story is mentioned there, too!

OK, enough of the shameless self-promotion - I'm just a little bit excited, as I am sure you will understand.

Publishing News!

I have news! Admittedly I've known for a while, but forgot to mention it. My short story SIRENUM SCOPULI has been accepted by Bewildering Stories. It will appear in their issue 340 June 8th. So, I will keep you posted and add the link to the story when it is published.

On the night of Midsummer's Eve, Charlotte Raidne, writes to her beloved Marcus with the most curious tale of the deadly seas and the mythical creatures within.

I wrote this in answer to a picture prompt called Ghostly Visions, by Crystalwizard, which I have added above. All the pictures available can be found here. Just rotate the images to go through them all.

That's all for now. Have a great day!
