I'm in Bewildering Stories Issue 340

Well, I'm here again, pleased to announce that my story SIRENUM SCOPULI in Bewildering Stories is now up.

I have to say, as a point of interest, that I am pleasantly surprised at how the managing editor, Don Webb, introduces the new contributors -- this time me. It's a very thoughtful thing to do, and by a way of thanks it makes me want to submit more stories to him. :) Seriously though, I do think it's a very nice touch.

In addition, I have also found that at the bottom of my story is a link to Issue 340 challenges; ideas formulated as they passed through the editor's mind while he read and formatted the text for publication. These can be used in many ways to inspire the readers to send in their ideas, and comments. Some challenges even resemble an exercise from a writers workshop, others can be seen as a prompt or an expression of the editor's concept of a Bewildering Story. Another great idea, I say! And my story is mentioned there, too!

OK, enough of the shameless self-promotion - I'm just a little bit excited, as I am sure you will understand.

Have you got a house guest you didn't invite?

Picture from Doorknobs & BodyPaint Iss: 54

Just a quick note to say that I am in Doorknobs & BodyPaint Issue: 54 - online today! If this doesn't work, click on the issue cover on the left hand side.

My story is titled Decorative Dinnerware. I had to write it about someone's life choices using 450 words or less and in dialogue. It was fun to tackle as I've never tried writing a story where I avoided the use of action/speaker tags.

Oh, and there are a couple of naughty words in it, too. But I'm sure you'll cope.

Bye for now!
